The SVS has been ever tried to aware and sensitize the rural community towards the importance of safe water and complete sanitation. In this regard, we have provided safe and clean water to the beneficiaries of poor and needy population of more than 450 villagers in district Lakhisarai and Sheikhpura of Bihar through our own efforts in association with the local people.
In the continuation of above program, we have install several points of lift irrigation initiated with the seasonal rives in district Pakur of Jharkhand state among about 700 small & marginal farmers, who were in a great need and suffering from crisis in farming. This effort followed by the construction of ponds, check dams and wells for the creation of sources to conserve the water for the recharging of ground water and the use in drinking, irrigation and other purposes.
In other hand, we have implemented several programs to ensure sanitation facility including the construction of toilets in the house holds of the poor and needy peoples with the support of district water & sanitation committee, Lakhisarai, Bihar. This program was initiated with a mass awareness campaign to sensitize the people to eliminate open defecation from the area. More than thousands of people of different villages have been benefitted through this sanitation program.
